Canoe Days Out

Cumberland - Ulswater - North shore to the north

How to get there - There are many car parks round the lake but most are pay and display. The most likely opportunity for free parking and easy launching is on the north shore about a mile and a half east of the junction with the A5091. Lay-bys on the lake side of the road, some with very easy launches.

If you wish to camp lakeside then you can usually launch from your campsite.

Alternative launch site at Pooley Bridge (Pay & Display) - Postcode CA10 2NE

Suggested Launch Site - Launch over the beach.

General Description - As with all lake trips you need to be aware of the weather, particularly the wind, and confident of your abilities in the conditions.

A northern circuit of Ulswater might include Howtown and Pooley Bridge

Such a trip could be 9 or 10 miles.
