How to get there - From Junction 15 of the M1 head north towards Northampton on the A45. Turn left into Watering Lane and Follow this for 4 miles miles over the M1 and under the railway line. Turn left into Barn Lane then right into Rectory Lane. At the major road go straight across (slightly right) into Cayton Road and continue to the "T" junction (over the bypass) where you turn left. Follow this road over the canal going straight on where the road bears right and over the second canal bridge. Park on the left.

Get a map with driving directions to start or end (enter the postcode of your starting point at A)

Suggested Launch Site - Launch over the towpath.

General Description - Head north leaving the canal arm on your right for a lock and portage free trip that you can make as long as you want. The Narrowboat Inn on the A5 (Watling Street) at Stowe Hill, Weedon is 6 and a half miles away. If you want to make it a one way trip you can leave a car there but out of courtesy check it out with them first (phone 01327 340536) For those with Sat Nav the postcode is NN7 4RZ.

Alternatively turn around at any point for a return trip. The Wharf Inn at Bugbrooke is 3.5 miles into the trip so this may make a suitable refreshment stop.
