Suggested Launch Site - Suggested launch over the bank opposite the car park.

General Description - Its about 7 miles & 4 Locks to the Hollybush at Denford or turn round when it suits you for a return to the start. Some locks, whilst not exactly staircases, come close together and can best be portaged with aid of a canoe trolley. If you are part of a group it may be worth going through the locks with the aid of a windlass and knowledge of the lock operation but its generally faster and easier to portage.

Did the trip in April from the Hollybush to the Black Lion and return, well worth it 2 good pubs and an interesting paddle. I believe you can join the river at cheddleton to Consall forge but can not find any reports.
