How to get there - Waverton is four mile south-east of Chester. From the ring road take the A41 for 2 miles then turn left to Waverton. The car park is on the right immediately before the road crosses the canal. For those with SatNav a nearby postcode is CH3 7PE.

As this is a one way trip you will need to leave a car at Brassey Green/ Beeston (see end map). There is a large car park at the Shady Oak pub (phone 01829 730718) who serve a decent pint and good food.

For those with SatNav the postcode is CW6 9UE.

Get a map with driving directions to start or end (enter the postcode of your starting point at A)

Suggested Launch Site - From the car park its an easy launch into the canal over the bank.

General Description - This is a lock free trip of about 6 miles across the Cheshire Plain. After clearing the back gardens of suburban Chester the trip is largely open agricultural land with good views as you approach Beeston Castle with 13th century fortifications on top of an iron age fort.
