Heading upstream you pass the pretty lawns of a converted oast house
complete with machine gun post in the garden
Sluice Weir and Lock
The river slows to its indolent best
Small creeks beckon you to investigate
passing Branbridges where both road and rail cross the river
Paddle back the way you came
Twyford Bridge on the right, is just about passable through the far arch on a day like today
Tistledown on the water above Sluice Weir
Under Stilstead Bridge
And on to Oak Weir Lock
Near Oak Wier
The last trip loaded was Melbourne to Cottingwith Lock via the Pocklington Canal, by Alan Brannon on 2nd December 2007.
