Canoe Days Out

Warwickshire - River Avon (Warwickshire) - Stratford upon Avon to Alveston Weir (& return)

How to get there - From Junction 15 on the M40 take the A46 southwest towards Stratford upon Avon. After 6 miles turn into the car park and picnic area on the left.

Get a map with driving directions to start (enter the postcode of your starting point at A)

Suggested Launch Site - Make a short portage down the surfaced path to the river and launch over the platform.

General Description - This paddle of about six miles takes you to the formal limit of navigation on the River Avon and back through lovely countryside with very attractive riverside properties.

If you want a longer trip you can venture a further mile downstream to the centre of Stratford upon Avon with the Royal Shakespear Company and the junction with the Stratford Canal

For my charity is it possible to rent canoes for 3 days to travel on the river Avon for as many miles as possible to raise money for charity

Did this trip on Good Friday, 22nd April. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Be aware there is height restriction of 6' on the entrance to the fishermens car park mentioned. We parked at the marina in central Stratford, next to the Holiday Inn, and used their slipway to launch. Parking is 4 for the day.
